Affirmative

I have got some books - Eu tenho alguns livros.

Negative

I haven't got any books (=I've got no books) - Não tenho nenhum livro.

Interrogative

Have you got any brothers or sisters? - Você tem algum irmão?

O que nós vimos acima foi o uso de some e any com substantivos contáveis no plural.


Podemos também usar 'some' e 'any' com substantivos incontáveis:

There is some water in the cat's bowl - Há um pouco de água na tijela do gato.

There isn't any food. Não há nenhuma comida.

Is there any sugar in this house?- Tem um pouco de açúcar nesta casa?
